PURPOSE:To obtain a photosensitive body having superior charge transfer characteristic and chargeability providing sufficient surface potential even in the case of thin film thickness in a function separating type photosensitive body having a charge generating layer and a charge transfer layer by forming the charge transfer layer of a specified amorphous carbon film contg. hydrogen. CONSTITUTION:The function separating type photosensitive body is constituted of a charge generating layer 3 and a charge transfer layer 2 wherein the charge transfer layer 2 comprises an amorphous carbon film contg. hydrogen, and the ratio of the number N1 of C atom having unsatd. bond to the number N2 of C atom having no unsatd. bond (N1:N2) is regulated to 1:20-1:0.5 among C atoms which are not bonded to H in its chemical structure. When the a-C film is provided as the charge transfer layer 2 and N2 of the C atoms contained in the a-C film is >=0.5 setting of N1 at 1, the specific resistance of the film can first exceed ca. 10<11>OMEGAcm and the mobility of the carrier can exceed 10<-7> cm<2>/(V.sec). Thus, sufficient charge transfer function is obtd. |
