PURPOSE:To improve the oxygen permeability of a contact lens and to make the lens resistant to sticking of stains by forming the lens of a copolymer essentially consisting of two kinds of specific comonomers. CONSTITUTION:This contact lens is formed of the copolymer essentially consisting of the fumarate or maleate expressed by formula I and the same system of the ester expressed by formula II. In formula I, R<1> denotes a hydrocarbon of 1-19C, or R<2>; R<2> denotes the siloxanyl alkyl expressed by formula III (in the formula III, n denotes 1-5; X<1>-X<3> denote a methyl, trimethyl siloxy, etc.). In formula II, R<3> denotes a hydrocarbon of 1-19C, or R<4>; R<4> denotes the fluoroalkyl expressed by -CkHlF2k+1+l (k is 2-18; l is 1-2k). The supply of substantial oxygen to the diaphragm is possible if the above-mentioned copolymer is used. The contact lens which simplifies taking care is thus obtd.
