PURPOSE:To test the adhesive strength of a protection layer accurately even by an unskilled operator without any rupture, etc., by inserting an annular member which has larger internal diameter size than the external diameter size of a cable core under the protection layer, and clamping and fixing a coupling member for coupling a weight under the protection layer. CONSTITUTION:The annular member 8 is inserted under an anti-corrosive layer 3 firstly. The annular member 8 has the larger internal diameter size than the external diameter size of the cable core 2 and there is therefore a slight gap formed between the inner peripheral surface of the annular member 8 and the outer peripheral surface of the cable core 2. A bind wire 5 is wound around the peripheral surface below the anticorrosive layer 3 while upper parts of plural wires 6' are made to contact the peripheral surface below the anticorrosive layer 3 in the vertical direction. In this case, the bind wire 5 is clamped with large clamping force to prevent the wires 6' as coupling members from coming out and also press the lower part of the anticorrosive layer 3 against the peripheral surface of the annular member 8 tightly. Then, the lower ends of the respective wires 6' are coupled with the weights 7 to place a specific load on the anticorrosive layer 3.
