PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium superior in light absorption characteristics, processability, and stability, by a method a data recording layer contains a specific silicon naphthalocyanine compound. CONSTITUTION:A data recording layer provided on a substrate contains a silicon naphthalocyanine compound shown by a formula (I). In the formula, R designates any one of an alkyl group, an alkenyl group, an aromatic hydrocarbon group, an acyl group, and a tri-substituted silyl group, each having 1-20 carbons. One Si-O bond exits upward in the space and the other exists downward in the space. The R disposed upward in the space and the R disposed downward in the space may be different from each other. Additionally, R1, R2, R3, and R4 designate any one of a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, and an substituted or non-substituted alkyl group or alkenyl group having 1-20 carbons, and may be either identical to or different from one another. Alphabets (a), (b), (c), and (d) designate any one of integers 1-4, and may be either similar to or different from one another. The recording layer formed on the substrate may have a film thickness, for example, ranging 0.01-5mum. |
