PURPOSE:To operate a controller without special knowledge by storing beforehand number for control such as a telephone number, a password, a device code number and a control number. CONSTITUTION:A speaker 34 and a microphone 37 are linked to the transmitter 33 and receiver 36 of an external pushphone type telephone set 31, and a keyboard 39 is operated to transmit a control signal. Since a RAM 43 previously stores a home telephone number, a password, a device code number, a control number, etc., through the operation of the keyboard 39, the data in the RAM 43 is transmitted to a home controller 1 through a CPU 44, a tone outgoing part 35, a speaker 34, the transmitter 33, an exchange 45 and a telephone line 7. Thus the turning on and off of a target device can be controlled, and the result is transmitted to an external telephone set again. The microphone 37 receives the data through the receiver 36, and a display part 40 is driven to display the state of the target device in a house.
