PURPOSE:To restrict damage of disappearing of data information on an auxiliary storage device only to the auxiliary storage device and to improve reliability of the whole system by dispersing data information for each separate auxiliary storage device and controlling them. CONSTITUTION:The system is provided with plural auxiliary storage devices 11, 12-1n, plural processors 21, 22-2m that access these auxiliary storage devices, an input-output controlling section 30 that controls access to auxiliary storage devices 11-1n by processors 21-2m and a shunted data file 31. As represented by an auxiliary storage device 11, auxiliary storage devices 11-1n are provided with a magnetic disk 1, a magnetic disk controlling section 2, a data information controlling section 3 and a data information memory 4 respectively. Data information controlled by the data information controlling section 3 and registered in the data information 4 is constituted of normal/ abnormal information that indicates whether a track is normal or abnormal for each track of the magnetic disk 1 and update time information that indicates day and time of update of data in the tracks.
