The present invention is in the field of masonry and its subject is the manufacture of construction or facing elements. According to the invention, the manufacture of an element resembling juxtaposed stones is characterised in that it comprises a device formed by a central core 11, a moulded elastomer inner skin 12, four V-shaped partitions 13 located in compartments 20 to 24 in which a differently coloured fluid substance of the mortar type will be poured, a moulded elastomer outer skin 14 comprising vertical relief elements 18, a metal peripheral tie 15 comprising locking means 16, the whole unit being laid on a base 17. After the mortar has been poured, the partitions 13 are removed and the mould is vibrated. The construction element is removed from the mould once it has hardened. Application to structures having the appearance of juxtaposed dressed stones. <IMAGE>
