The present invention consists of a solid fuel boiler of the type having inverted combustion and a post-combustion chamber comprising a primary grate 12 and a secondary grate 3 in series. The boiler may possibly comprise a post-combustion chamber in the form of a channel 2 made of refractory brickwork. The secondary grate 3 is also made of refractory brickwork.
