PURPOSE:To obtain a heat-resistant Al alloy by the ordinary casting and working processes, by specifying the grain size and intergranular distance of intermetallic phase grains in the ingot of an Al alloy in which respective contents of Ni, Mn, Cr, Zr, V, Co, Fe, Ti, and optional components are specified. CONSTITUTION:The Al alloy has a composition consisting of, by weight, 3-12% Ni, 0.3-3% Mn, 0.02-2% of one or more kinds among 0.03-1% Cr, 0.03-0.7% Zr, 0.03-0.7% V, 0.03-1% Co, 0.08-1% Fe and 0.02-0.5% Ti, and the balance Al with <=2%, in total, of optional additive components. Further, the average grain size and the intergranular distance of the intermetallic phase grains existing in the above ingot are regulated to <=2mu and <=5mu, respectively. Moreover, the formation of such structure can be achieved by regulating the cooling velocity at the time of ordinary solidification to >=about 100 deg.C/sec.
