PURPOSE:To obtain the Nd-Fe-B alloy powder, to be used for plastic magnet, having excellent magnetic characteristics and a high degree of fluidity when an injection molding is performed by a method wherein the globe-shaped powder of 40 mum or less in average grain diameter, having no mechanical distortion, is formed and a heat treatment is performed in a vacuum atmosphere or in an indert gas atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:The globe-shaped powder of the average grain diameter of 40 mum or less having no mechanical distortion is formed in the spray gas pressure of l5kg/cm<2> or above using a molten metal nozzle diameter of 3 mm phior above and less than 6.5 phi by performing an inert gas atomizing method. Snbsequently, a heat treatment is performed on the powder at 300-400 deg.C for one hour or more in a vacuum or in an inert gas atmosphere. As a result, the Nd-Fe-B alloy powder, to be used for a plastic magnet, having excellent magnetic characteristics, excellent dispensability when the powder is knealed in the process of manufacture of the plastic magnet, excellent fluidity when an injection molding is performed, the excellent homogeneity of molded products and high density, can be obtained. |
