摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain simply a highly crystalline PP, by polymerizing propylene by using a catalyst comprising a specified transition metal catalyst and an organoaluminum compound. CONSTITUTION:A polymerization catalyst is obtained by contacting 0.5-1,000pts. wt. transition metal catalyst (a) such as a titanium halide obtained by reducing TiCl4 with metallic aluminum, H2 or an organoaluminum and, optionally, modifying the obtained TiCl3 with an electron-donating compound (e.g., alcohol or ether) and 1pt.wt. organoaluminum compound (b) (e.g., triethylaluminum) with 1-100 equivalents, per equivalent of component (a), of vinylnaphthalene (c) in an inert medium such as toluene. Propylene, etc., are (co)polymerized at a temperature of room temperature to 100 deg.C and a pressure of normal pressure to 50kg/cm<2>.G in the presence of the catalyst in an inert medium such as toluene.
