<p>A surge detector for a rotating compressor having a compressor stage with a gas inlet and a gas outlet and experiencing rapid changes in inlet temperature as said surges occur, said detector comprising means mounted in said compressor inlet for generating signals representing only those temperature changes therein which are due to surge conditions, and means coupled to said generating means for receiving said signals representing said temperature changes and producing control signals based upon said temperature changes in said inlet whereby the number, duration and magnitude of said surges may be detected.</p> |
