PURPOSE:To make the conveyed quantity of a granular or powdery material constant, by providing an empty chamber between a hopper and the upper portion of an endless chain located under the hopper, and providing a dividing plate along the bottom of the upper portion of the chain facing the empty chamber, to break the pile of the granular or powdery material supplied onto the dividing plate. CONSTITUTION:An empty chamber M is provided between the upper portion or returning portion 1a of an endless chain 1 and a granular or powdery material throw-in hopper 3 located over the chain. A dividing plate 4 is laid along the bottom of the chain portion 1a facing the empty chamber M. A granular or powdery material is thrown in from the hopper 3 and piled up on the dividing plate 4 in the chamber M. The pile of the material is then broken by the upper portion 1a of the endless chain 1 so that the material is gradually dispersed and dropped from the edge of the dividing plate 4 onto the proceeding portion 1b of the chain. As a result, the granular or powdery material is conveyed at a constant thickness on the bottom of a conveying passage 5 toward an outlet port by the proceeding portion 1b of the chain 1. |
