PURPOSE:To facilitate the travel speed control of a movable element so that a sufficient torque may be obtained even at a low speed, by making a yoke of a soft magnetic material, field poles including field cores of a semirigid material and pole pieces of a soft magnetic material. CONSTITUTION:A movable element 6 is a permanent magnet, of which two diametrally opposite N and S poles are magnetized, and a stator 8 consists of a yoke 10, field cores 11, 21, 31 and pole pieces 12, 22, 32. The yoke 10 is formed of a soft magnetic material, field poles 15, 25, 35 having field cores 11, 21, 31 are composed of a semirigid material and pole pieces 12, 22, 32 are formed of a soft magnetic material. The field cores 11, 21, 31 are respectively wound with coils 13, 23, 33.
