PURPOSE:To eliminate waste use of lines by providing a call signal identification means identifying plural kinds of call signals incoming via the line so as to inhibit the voice reply to an incoming signal not requiring voice reply. CONSTITUTION:At the time of an incoming is detected, a control circuit 31 discriminates whether a call signal comes from an external line or not, and if it is discriminated that the call comes from an external, a changeover switch 42 is thrown to the position of an automatic voice reply device ARU 36 and a changeover switch 41 is thrown to the position of a facsimile equipment 3. Then a voice reply message preset is generated from the ARU 36. On the other hand, if it is discriminated that the call signal is an extension call, only the switch 41 is thrown to the position of the facsimile equipment 3 to apply instantly the facsimile reception without sending a reply message.
