The transport of metal cowls for chimneys, as far as their delivery is concerned, is facilitated by the presence, for connecting each panel, of articulations constituted by small bars 1 which pivot at each of their ends on a square bracket 2, said small bars being of such a length that a separation plate 5 and 6 made of expanded plastic material can be interposed between each of the panels 3, 4 and 7 which, thus brought to be parallel with one another, offer the minimum volume for transport of said cowl, the positioning of which is achieved by simply unfolding it. The device which is the subject of the invention can be used for the construction of metal cowls for prefabricated chimneys. <IMAGE>
