PURPOSE:To save a memory and to output characters with a simple constitution by arranging a ROM for storing a font of characters or codes in a pattern storing part and a gradation flag for discriminating the degree of brightness. CONSTITUTION:Received data from a host computer 2 is stored in a receiving buffer 4 of a recording device body 1 in an image processor and supplied to a CPU 3. A processing program for the CPU 3 is stored in a program ROM 5 and patterns 30-32 are stored in a pattern area 5a in the ROM 5. Then, a font of characters or codes is stored in a character font ROM 6 and a RAM 7 is used as a working area during the operation of the CPU 3 and a flag for selecting the patterns 30-32 of the area 5a of the ROM 5 is set up on a gradation flag 7a in the RAM 7. At the time of processing of the received data, the CPU 3 discriminates the degree of brightness by the flag 7a, so that the memory can be saved and the constitution of the device can be simplified. |
