PURPOSE:To simply and easily fix a sleeve to a pipe body, at the time of jointing a pipe body inserting and fixing a flanged sleeve to connect at the flange part, by contacting an excess thickness part of the sleeve with a periphery of the pipe body to give mechanical stress. CONSTITUTION:The metal pipe body 8 possessed of the flange 8a at its one end and provided with the excess thickness part 8b consisting of plural streaks of bead parts is fitted in a backup ring to support. A thin wall pipe body 7 of stainless steel to be connected is inserted through a through port 21a of a supporting plate 21, then inserted into the sleeve 7 to contact the peripheral surface of the pipe by 7 with the excess thickness part 8b. Next, a pressure fluid is introduced into the secondary cylinder chamber 13 of a backup means 10 in contact closely with the inner peripheral surface of the pipe body 7 to extend a piston rod 18 for backing up to contact fixedly with the inner peripheral surface of the pipe body 7. Thus the excess thickness part 8 is forcibly abutted on the outer peripheral surface of the tube body 7 to give a deformation consisting of an annular groove to the corresponding part of the pipe body 7 to fix the sleeve 8 with the stainless steel metal pipe 7 closely.
