PURPOSE:To obtain a fluorine-containing organic compound useful as a medicine, agricultural chemical or intermediate therefor in ggood selectivity, etc., with an N-fluoropyridinium salt. CONSTITUTION:A salt expressed by formula I (R<-> is carbonion; M<+> is counter cation) is reacted with a compound expressed by formula II (R<1>-R<5> are H, alkyl, aryl, alkoxy, or aryloxy; X<-> is conjugate base of Brphinsted acid), prefer ably in a solvent, e.g. diethyl ether, THF, acetonitrile, CH2Cl2, benzene, etc., at -60 deg.C- room temperature to afford the aimed compound expressed by formula III.
