PURPOSE:To obtain the titled very aesthetic confectionery viewed like an artificial flower which blooms when immersed in water, by inserting a natural flower subjected to a specific edible treatment into a transparent cup, pouring a melted hot water-like transparent jelly thereinto and fixing the flower in a blooming state. CONSTITUTION:A natural flower cut from the root part of a calyx is dipped in a hot water-like alkali solution prepared by dissolving an alkali, e.g. sodium bicarbonate, and boiling the solution while heating in a short time to carry out harshness removing treatment and discolored in a softened state. The resultant flower is then dipped in edible vinegar for a long time, e.g. 2-3hr, to restore the discoloration to the natural color, neutralize the alkali and afford the aimed natural flower subjected to edible treatment. The resultant flower is further inserted into a transparent cup, e.g. made of a transparent synthetic resin, etc., and a jelly melted in the form of hot water is poured into the cup to make the flower in a blooming state utilizing floating action. A lid is directly laced to hermetically seal the cup while the jelly is hot and afford the titled confectionery without requiring a sterilization step. |
