Fluidised-bed furnace for waste in lumps, in which, in an essentially cylindrical casing, a concentric pipe is submerged into the fluidised bed, the actual furnace space being arranged inside this concentric inner pipe or in the annular gap between the concentric pipe and the outer casing. In the first case, the fuel is blown tangentially into the annular gap between the concentric central-pipe furnace space and the outer casing and, distributed uniformly over the entire circumference, pressed from outside inwards in an annular manner into the fluidised bed under slight overpressure. In the second case, the material to be combusted is blown in through the concentrically arranged central pipe and pressed into the fluidised bed from inside outwards under slight overpressure, the fluidised-bed furnace space being situated outside this central pipe. In both cases, the fuel is introduced into the fluidised bed below the fluidised-bed surface and distributed uniformly to all sides even in the case of relatively large furnace diameters. <IMAGE>
