An interrupter switch, especially for insulated electrical overhead lines, has a housing (1) which is open on one side and in which the stationary contact elements (3) are arranged. A switching cover (7) is detachably hinged on the housing (1) in two different arrangements by means of bearing elements (10, 13, 14) which engage detachably in one another and, in one of its limit positions, it closes the housing (1). It carries at least one switching contact element which is fixed in it, makes contact with the stationary contact elements (3) in the closed position of the switching cover (7) in one arrangement, and is located at a distance from the stationary contact elements (3) in the other arrangement. In both arrangements, when the switching cover (7) is in its closed position, its side which carries the switching contact element (9) points towards the housing (1). However, it is at a greater distance from that side of the housing (1) which faces it in one arrangement than in the other arrangement. <IMAGE>
