PURPOSE:To increase the freedom for arranging exhaust pipes by arranging the exhaust pipes while classifying into two groups then coupling the valves in respective exhaust pipes arranged in parallel for every pipe group through single shaft thereafter functioning respective shafts by means of a controller corresponding to the operating condition of engine. CONSTITUTION:Exhaust pipes provided for respective cylinders are classified into one group 16a, 16b and another group 16c, 16d, then they are arranged in parallel in each group. Shafts for driving the throttle valves in the exhaust pipes are provided for respective exhaust pipe groups and driven respectively by means of the drive units 46a, 46b. A controller 54 controls two actuators 50a, 50b corresponding to the engine rotation 52 and drives the drive units 46a, 46b.
