PURPOSE:To simplify remarkably edition operation by identifying and displaying the state attribute of translation processing changing variously to allow the user to recognize the state easily and changing the state attribute according to the indication. CONSTITUTION:An original file name and a translation file name are file names added automatically by an edition control section 4 so as to identify many original and translation sentences in an original storage section 2 and a translation storage section 3 respectively and used internally. As the state attribute, information representing whether the original is prior to translation, or the translation is intermitted on the way or the translation is finished is stored. In using the document managing table, the edition of the original or translation only is facilitated. When the operator give an indication of the attribute change, the cursor selects a desired document to change the state attribute in the document management table.
