摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the internal heat efficiency of the titled reformer and to lower the temp. of the exhaust gas by providing the outlet passage of the combustion gas between the outside heat insulating material of the reformer furnace body and the inside insulating material to form a gaseous phase insulating layer. CONSTITUTION:The hydrocarbonic material and steam are introduced into a reformer catalyst bed 13, supplied with heat, and allowed to react with each other. Consequently, the mixture is converted into a fluid mixture consisting essentially of hydrogen. Meanwhile, the combustion gas generated from a burner 10 flows downward to a radiator 17 while supplying heat to the catalyst bed through the reformer tube 11. The outlet temp. of the combustion gas is lowered by the radiator 17, and the outer wall temp. of the reformer tube 7 is made constant. The combustion gas is further passed through a heat exchanger 18, and discharged to the outside from a outlet 19 through an outlet passage 20 between the outside insulating material 15 and the inside insulating material 16. The sensible heat of the fuel exhaust gas can be effectively utilized by the arrangement of the gaseous-phase insulating layer consisting of such an outlet passage.
