PURPOSE:To obtain a thermal recording system imparting excellent recording quality and enabled in high speed recording, by specifying the interval between a first and a second heat generating element groups and mutually moving the first and second heat generating element groups by a length being a multiple of a moving pitch to alternately and repeatedly perform the simultaneous driving and simultaneous cooling of the first and second heat generating element groups. CONSTITUTION:A heat generating element group 31 and a heat generating element group 32 are arranged so as to set the interval between both groups to a pitch (4n-2) (n is a positive integer) times the predetermined moving pitch of a thermal head 30, for example, a 2-dot pitch. When the [integer-fold of 4-3] or [integer fold of 4-2] numbers of clock pulses are generated, the heat generating element groups 31, 32 are driven simultaneously and, when the [integer-fold of 4] of [integer-fold of 4-1] numbers of clock pulses are generated, pulse driving times of the heat generating element groups are calculated by CPU and set so as to become the time within an one-clock pulse cycle. Two rows of the heat generating element groups alternately repeat simultaneous driving and simultaneous cooling in synchronous relationship in the multiple unit of the predetermined moving pitch of the thermal head and perform high speed recording while a cooling time is secured. |
