PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid jet recording head capable of forming an image having good gradient by multilevel recording, by a method wherein the contact interface with a recording liquid in a heat generating part is roughened and the heat generating quantity of the heat generating resistor constituting the heat generating part is increased in the central part thereof as compared with the end part thereof. CONSTITUTION:The liquid contact surface 17 with a recording liquid in a heat generating part is roughened so as to have minute unevenness. This surface roughening of the liquid contact surface 17 is performed, for example, using an arbitrary means such as sand blasting, buff polishing or etching. By performing the surface roughening of the liquid contact surface, the heat supply efficiency to the recording liquid is enhanced and the high speed response of recording is achieved. A heat generating resistor 12 is constituted so that the central part thereof becomes narrower than the end part thereof so as to make the resistance of the central part larger than that of the end part in order to increase the heat generating quantity of the central part as compared with the end part. The increasing in the resistance of the central part of the heat generating resistor 12 is attained to as to reduce a liquid contact area. In a liquid jet recording head wherein the heat generating quantity of the heat generating resistor is increased in the central part thereof as compared with the end part thereof, the emitting quantity of the recording liquid can be controlled arbitrarily and gradation expression can be performed by the change in the emitting quantity of the recording liquid. |
