PURPOSE:To attain the measurement of a minute displacement of a magnetic head and to improve the performance of a magnetic recording device by observing the positional change of the Oth order interference fringes of a Newton ring caused by the interference between a projecting face of an optical head and a reflected light beams from a disk face in irradiating a light to the disk face via the optical head. CONSTITUTION:A plane convex lens shaped optical head 18 made of alight transmitting material, a light source 19 for observing interference fringes a television camera 27 and a display device 28 are provided and the optical head 18 is supported by a gimbal spring 7 of a magnetic head support mechanism so that the projecting face is in point contact onto a magnetic disc 11. In irradiating light beams onto the disk face via the optical head 18, the positional change of Oth order interference fringes A, B of the Newton ring caused by the interference of the reflected light beams between the projecting part of the optical head 18 and the disk face is observed. The minute displacement of the magnetic head on the disk face is measured simulatingly. |
