A tailgate for heat-insulated freight spaces of motor vehicles and trailers, in particular a folding wall for such vehicle superstructures has a laminate, consisting of an insulating layer and hard material panels covering it on both sides. The insulating layer and cover panels have the same dimensions with respect to length and width of the laminate. The laminate is surrounded by a frame made of lightweight metal extruded profiles which ensures the required stability and torsional strength of the tailgate.
