PURPOSE:A molded article, consisting of a hydrophilic copolyester containing zeolite based solid particles holding metal ions having germicidal action and having improved persistency of performance thereof for a long period without variation in antimicrobial performance in molding. CONSTITUTION:A molded polyester article obtained by adding and blending (A) a metallic zeolite prepared by holding metallic ions having germicidal action, e.g. gold, silver, zinc, etc., in zeolite based solid particles, preferably zeolite having preferably >=150m<2>/g specific surface area (based on anhydrous zeolite) and <=14 molar ratio of SiO2/Al2O3 which are zeolite constituent components, (e.g. analcime, zeolite A, etc.) with (B) a hydrophilic copolyester obtained by copolymerizing ethylene terephthalate or butylene terephthalate as a principal component with polyethylene glycol and/or sodium sulfoisophthalate, e.g. just before molding, and molding the resultant blend.
