PURPOSE:To obtain a pyroelectric type infrared sensor which has high sensitivity and fast response by using a molecule film of a specific compound as a pyroelectric body at a sensor part. CONSTITUTION:A monolayer film, a monolayer accumulated film, or their polymer film of the organic compound which has a hydrophobic part and a hydrophilic part is used as the pyroelectric body of the pyroelectric type infrared sensor. Constituent molecules of the organic monolayer can use higher fatty acid, azo pigment, dialkyl ammonium salt, cyanine dye, etc. The monolayer accumulated film is formed by using, for example, a Langmuir brojet method. When the accumulated film is formed, long-chain saturated fatty acid and its derivative, long-chain unsaturated fatty acid and its derivative, etc., are usable. The sensor part is constituted by sandwiching the organic monolayer 1 as the pyroelectric body between a transparent electrode 2 and an electrode 3. Then, a circuit is composed of an amplifier 4, an external resistance 5, an output terminal 6, and an earth terminal 7. |
