The invention relates to an electrical connection device for flat (ribbon) cables. The device comprises a connector body 1 making it possible to hold two cables to be connected, denoted by P and D, mechanically. A connection element 2 is disposed in the body of the connector 1. This element includes a structure 20 made from insulating material, fitted with a number of discrete electrical contact elements 2i. The cables are arranged in the connector body 1 opposite each other on either side of the contact faces 201, 202 of the connection element 2. Each contact element 2i provides the electrical contact between a conducting track Ci of the cable P and a conducting track of the cable D. Application to the connection of flat (ribbon) cables used in computer systems, data-transmission systems or electronic systems such as radars or sonars. <IMAGE>
