In a container (4), the rescue-signal appliance contains a folded, inflatable hollow body (10) with a signal transmitter (13). The inflatable hollow body (10) is connected to a pressure-gas tank (1). The container (4) is provided with a seal (12) which can easily be released manually. When the seal (12) is released, the inflatable hollow body (10) is filled virtually instantaneously with pressure gas from the pressure-gas tank (1) and is driven out of the container (4) while activating the signal transmitter (13). <IMAGE>
