PURPOSE:The titled varnish useful as laminates, etc., having improved workability, curing properties and economic efficiency, obtained by dissolving a maleimide resin containing a bismaleimide obtained by reacting maleic anhydride with an aromatic diamine in a solventless state at a specific temperature and a prepolymer in a solvent. CONSTITUTION:The aimed maleimide resin varnish having improved workability and curing properties, high glass transition temperature and good economic efficiency, obtained by dissolving (A) 40-70wt% a maleimide resin containing a bismaleimide (e.g., N,N'-m-phenylene bismaleimide, etc.) obtained by reacting (i) maleic anhydride with (ii) an aromatic diamine in a solventless state at 130-200 deg.C and 30-60wt% prepolymer having 500-5,000mol.wt. in (B) a solvent (e.g., ketone or cyclic ether).
