PURPOSE:To execute an artificial 'overwrite' by decreasing a little a storage capacity, by providing alternately a recording area and an intermediate area when seeing in the direction orthogonal to a track, and positioning two pieces of light beams in two pieces of positions where an intermediate distance is equal to width of the intermediate area when seeing in the direction orthogonal to the track in the recording area. CONSTITUTION:In a figure (a), a down magnetic field H is impressed to a recording medium 4, recording is executed by a light beam 1, and an erasion is executed by light beams 2. In this case, in a recording area 9 which has been magnetized in advance in the upper direction, a bit 7 which has been magnetized in the lower direction is formed, and in a recording area 10, the magnetization is executed uniformly in the lower direction. On the other hand, in a figure (b), an up magnetic field H is impressed to the recording medium 4, recording is executed by the light beam 2, and an erasion is executed by the light beam 1. In this case, in the recording area 10 which has been magnetized in advance in the lower direction, a bit 8 which has been magnetized in the upper direction is formed, and in the recording area 9, the magnetization is executed uniformly in the upper direction. By repeating an operation of the figure (a) and (b), a state that information has been recorded is held in one recording area 9 and the recording area 10 at all times. |
