PURPOSE:To obtain an O/W-type emulsion cosmetic giving refreshing feeling and capable of keeping uniform and stable emulsion state, by compounding lecithin, a lower monohydric alcohol, a polyhydric alcohol, an oil and water at specific ratios. CONSTITUTION:The objective cosmetic can be produced by compounding (A) 0.1-10(wt)% (preferably 0.5-5%) lecithin, (B) 0.1-50% (preferably 2-30%) lower monohydric alcohol (especially ethanol or isopropanol from the viewpoint of safety and refreshing feeling), (C) 0.5-40% (preferably 2-30%) polyhydric alcohol which is liquid at normal temperature and emulsifying temperature (e.g. ethylene glycol, glycerol, etc.), (D) 0.1-50% (preferably 2-30%) oil component such as liquid paraffin, soybean oil, fatty acid, etc., and (E) 30-99.2% (preferably >=30%) water. An emulsion having fine particle size and sharp particle size distribution can be produced by adding the component C and a small amount of water (0.2-2 times weight of C) to a dissolved or dispersed mixture of the components A, B and C and diluting the resultant homogeneous composition with residual water under agitation. |
