PURPOSE:To simplify the structure of a lifter device, by arranging a slide rail, a rotary device and a lifter device in the mentioned order on the vehicle floor, and by attaching a seat back rest to the base frame of the rotary device through a hinge. CONSTITUTION:The base frame 4 of a rotary device is arranged movably in the longitudinal direction on a slide rail 2 which is laid on a projecting part 1a on a floor 1. A seat cushion 5 is attached movably in the vertical direction to a lifter device 3 which is attached to the base frame 4, through the intermediary of a vertically movable lifter 3a which is projected from both sides of the lifter device 3 and is vertically swingable. Reclining hinges 7 are attached on both sides of the base frame 4 of a rotary device by fastening bolts etc., and a back rest 6 is attached to the front ends of the hinges, tiltably rearward. With this arrangement no load acts upon the lifter device 3 from the back rest 6, and therefore, it is possible to simplify the structure of the seat assembly without the necessity of enhancing in particular the strength of the lifter device 3.
