PURPOSE:To obtain an electrophotographic sensitive body which has high sensitivity, small residual potential and excellent durability and contains an azo pigment as an effective carrier transfer material by incorporating the specific azo pigment into a photosensitive layer on a conductive base. CONSTITUTION:The azo pigment expressed by general formula I is incorporated into the photosensitive layer on the conductive base. In formula, R, R' are hydrogen, lower alkyl group, lower alkoxy group, halogen, trichloromethyl group, cyano group, m, n are 1 or 2, R, R' may be the same or different when m, n are 2, Cp is a coupler residue. The electrophotographic sensitive body is obtd. by coating a coating liquid obtd. by dissolving or dispersing the azo dye into a suitable solvent on the base and drying the coating to form the photosensitive layer. A binder or electric charge transfer medium may be incorporated into the coating liquid in this case. |
