Two reels (24), wound with an audio tape (32), are arranged rotatably inside a cassette housing formed by two halves (10, 12). Each of the reels has a reel hub (26), on which there is a metallic flange (30) fastened on both sides in each case. The reel hub (26) has a central recess (36), into which an offset, annular part (34) of the reel hub protrudes radially. The inner end of each annular projection (20) bears loosely against the endface neighbouring it of the offset, annular part (34) of the relevant reel, as a result of which the reels (24) are held in such a way that there is a distance between the outsides of the flanges (30) and the insides of the two cassette housing halves (10, 12). With the mounting described above of the reels, only little friction occurs and therefore smooth, quiet running of the audio tape is ensured over a prolonged period. <IMAGE>
