PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material for general use and ink jet recording having a rapid ink absorbing property and forming a sharp image excellent in color effect and a dot shape, by applying a silica colloid solution and/or an alumina colloid solution to at least one surface of a recording material consisting of a fibrous substance and a filler. CONSTITUTION:The paper used as the base material of this recording material is formed on the basis of a fibrous substance such as pulp and a filler such as inorg. pigment and various recording papers used widely heretofore are used. Especially pref. recording paper is the one with a Stockigt sizing degree of 10sec or less. A silica colloid solution is one containing colloidal silica particles and an alumina colloid solution similarly contains colloidal alumina particles. The silica colloidal particles and alumina colloidal particles impart the excellent impregnation property to the base material and the excellent smoothness on the base material when respectively have particle sizes of 1-60nm and 5-200nm. |
