A power converter in which a turn-on signal input blocking means (transistor 32 or 34) blocks one of the two transistors (33, 35) from turning on so far as another transistor is on, so that the two transistors (33, 35) are prevented from simultaneously turning on to short-circuit a DC power source (13). In order to detect the turn-on or -off condition of either one of the transistors, one transistor and a rectifier are connected in series to form a one-way controllable valve. A current path is formed to flow a current into one of the transistors while it is turned on in the forward direction of the valve without passing through the rectifier. Further, the title device is provided with a current detecting means (transistor 34 or 32) to detect the current. The turn-on signal input blocking means is driven by the current detecting means. |
