PURPOSE:To make clear the visuality of the emitting light from phosphors, by furnishing convex surfaces responding to the phosphors over the surface of a face glass to function as lenses, when plural phosphors are formed in a matrix form at the rear side of the face glass, and a face plate and the like is furnished at the front side of the face glass to form a matrix CRT. CONSTITUTION:Plural phosphors 5 are furnished in a matrix form at the rear side of a face glass 4, and a face plate 2 is furnished at the front side of the face glass 4. At the periphery of the face glass 4 is installed a frame form spacer glass 3, and the opening is enclosed by a bottom plate to produce a vacuum space. Then, a filament, a grid, and the like are furnished in the vacuum space, and an external light source 7 is directed to the face glass 4 through the vacuum space. In such a composition, at the light source 7 side of the face glass 4 with phosphors, convex surfaces 6 are formed responding to the phosphors 5. Therefore, the visuality of the phosphors 5 can be improved and also the reflection of the external light can be dispersed efficiently.
