PURPOSE:To obtain the titled composition which can give a tire low in rolling resistance, excellent in braking performance on a snowed or frozen road and good in abrasion resistance, by using a butadiene/piperylene copolymer rubber having a specified microstructure. CONSTITUTION:The titled composition containing at least 20pts.wt., per 100pts. wt. total rubber component, butadiene/piperylene copolymer rubber which has a piperylene content of 20-40mol% and in which at least 95% of the microstructure of the butadiene part is in the trans form. A partner polymer which is to be blended with said butadiene/piperylene copolymer rubber may be a general diene elastomer, and natural rubber and synthetic polyisoprene are particularly desirable. This composition can give a tire low in rolling resistance, excellent in braking performance on a snowed or frozen road and good in abrasion resistance and can be suitable used for treads of all-season tires and snow tires.
