PURPOSE:To make it possible to conduct a dehumidifying operation by a heater of a smaller capacity to reduce the operating power by operating a compressor and supplying no power to a heater when the room temperature is higher than a set temperature, and controlling to operate and stop the compressor and control power supply to the heater when the room temperature is lower than the set temperature. CONSTITUTION:A compressor 1, a four-way valve 2, an outdoor heat exchanger 3, a pressure reducing device, and an indoor heat exchanger 5 are successively connected by a coolant pipeline 6 thereby to constitute a freezing cycle. When carrying out a dehumidifying operation, it is carried out by a controller 10 based on a room temperature detected by a sensor, and a set temperature set by the user. When the room temperature TA is higher than the set temperature TS, the controller 10 operates the compressor 1 and supplies no power to the heater 9, and when the room temperature TA is lower than the set temperature TS, the compressor 10 operates and stops the compressor 1 and controls the heater by supplying power.
