The invention relates to a device making it possible to protect a coat-hanger attached to an arm of a display stand against theft. It consists of a box in two parts 1 and 2 assembled together on a common axle 3 forming a joint. This box has a central cutout 4 intended for receiving the arm of a display stand 5. The latter 5 comprises two rods 6 fastened one at each end and serving for enclosing the box. An orifice 7 of suitable shape makes it possible to engage a coat-hanger hook 8 by rotation. The latter blocks the orifice of the parts 1 and 2. At the base of the box, two flat studs 9, one on each part 1 and 2 having a central hole 10, receives the movable part of a padlock 11 which serves for locking. The device according to the invention is intended especially for protecting a coat-hanger attached to an arm of a display stand against theft.
