PURPOSE:To enable the load setting and the load reading to be conducted in an actual unit by removing the necessity of a conversion from a prescribed load to a percentage weight or from a percentage reading to an actual load. CONSTITUTION:The detected load signals from the load cell 2 mounted to the body 1 to a material testing machine are amplified by a load amplifier 3 and A/D-converted (5) to be arithmetically processed in a CPU 6. On the other hand, the signals indicative of the working range values of the load amplifier 3 itself are inputted to the CPU 6 via an I/O device 8. A load cell capacity display 10, a load indicator 11 and a cycle setter 12 are connected to the I/O device 8 and the signals from them are also inputted to the CPU 6 via the I/O device 8. The write and read of the signals into and from the CPU 6, respectively, are conducted by a ROM/RAM 7 connected to the CPU 6 and the I/O device 8. The CPU 6 arithmetically processes the signals and outputs operational results to the load display 11 via the I/O device 8. Thus, the necessity of a variety of conversions is removed and the efficiency of a measuring operation can be improved.
