The invention relates to an apparatus for the extraction of silage material from flat or mobile silos, having a structure which can be mounted on the three-point hydraulics or the like of an agricultural tractor, and having a cutting unit 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 which cuts out the silage material as a block and which is arranged on a preferably U-shaped supporting frame 1 fastened to the structure so as to be vertically movable, the said apparatus comprising, on each supporting-frame spar 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, a cutting tool 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 movable in translational motion via drive elements 15, 16, 18, 20, 35, 36 and having a sliding surface 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 extending above its cutting edge 4.1, 4.2, 4.3 and guided on the underside of the respective supporting-frame spar 1.1, 1.2, 1.3. In order, in particular, to increase the supply of lubricant to the slidably guided parts and the lifetime of the apparatus, the cutting tools 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 are respectively arranged above their sliding surface 5.1, 5.2, 5.3 guided on the underside of the respective supporting-frame spar 1.1, 1.2, 1.3, and at least the drive elements 15, 16, 38 giving the cutting tools 2.1, 2.2, 2.3 their direct drive movement are arranged in protective spaces formed on the supporting frame 1 (Figure 1). <IMAGE>
