PURPOSE:To provide an economical electric carpet for use by two persons by one-side heating, by providing a plurality of main parts of a heater on both sides by setting up a borderline in the area in the neighborhood of the diagonal line of a carpet body, and by providing an ON/OFF switch which can selectively turn two heaters ON and OFF. CONSTITUTION:A plurality of heater wires 4 are provided in two blocks 'a' and 'b' of a carpet body which is divided into two parts by setting up a borderline in the area in the neighborhood of the diagonal line of a carpet. The wiring is provided between the heat-insulating material 2 and the warmth-keeping material 3 of a carpet body 1. The other end of each heater wire 4 is connected to a controller 5, and each heater wire 4 is wired in parallel to each other. Two ON/OFF switches 8 are provided to the controller 5 in series for the heater 4 of each block so as to be able to operate each heater selectively. One arbitrary side of two blocks or both sides can be energized by turning each switch ON or OFF. One side heating is enough for two persons (10) if they sit on one side of two blocks divided by the diagonal line connecting two opposite corners. The carpet is very economical as thermal and electrical energies can be utilized efficiently.
