PURPOSE:To save a labor and time and to improve the productivity of a leveller by automating the recombination of the work roll of the tension leveller for descaling and shape straightening of a strip like metal plate. CONSTITUTION:The work roll of the tension leveller for straightening the defective shape of a rolling steel plate and removing the scale is recombined by pushing out the opposing lower part work rolls 5b, 7b inside a housing 11 continuously onto a transfer table 62 by pushing out the auxiliary lower part work rolls 5b, 7b on a truck 60 by a work roll transfer device 66 after advancing and stopping the roll recombining truck 60 to the prescribed recombination position. The recombination of the upper part work roll 6b is performed by pulling out the upper part roll unit inside the housing and by pulling the auxiliary roll unit inside the housing as well by retreating the auxiliary roll unit 6' loaded on the upper part roll unit placing base 61 by linking it to the roll recombining truck 60 via the respectively opposing upper part roll unit inside the housing 11.
