PURPOSE:To confirm the version number of a control program with a minimum memory change by sending data, to which a microprocessor reads from a version number confirmation area of a memory, to a comparing means and obtaining the value outputted from the comparing means as the version number of the control program. CONSTITUTION:Version number storage area 31(0)-31(n) are provided in plural memories (ROM) 3(0)-3(n) where on control program is stored, and the contents of version number storage areas 31(0)-31(n) of memories (ROM) 3(0)-3(n) are changed when the contents of memories (ROM) 3(0)-3(n) are changed. A comparing part 8 takes out a maximum value, namely, Verl. 1 from inputted data and sends it to a test print control part 4. The test print control part 4 prints characters through a printer control part 6 by a printer mechanism part 7. Thus, the contents of only the memory (ROM) 3(i) where stored data contents are changed are changed to find the version number of the control program, and the version number of the control program is confirmed with a minimum memory change. |
